Description
1969 International Formula Two round for the Wills Trophy, Thruxton, Easter Monday. Derek Bell in his SpA Ferrari SEFAC entered Ferrari Dino 166 V6 finished 7th in his heat behind the similar car of Regazzoni but retired in the final with fuel pressure problems. After a year end trip to Australia and New Zealand to do the Tasman series in a team with Chris Amon and using Ferrari 166s fitted with 2.4 litre V6 engines Derek was back in one of these relatively underpowered F2 Ferraris to finish the season – one that had promised so much but ended with another trip down-under and then to facing a further year back as a private F2 entrant. His first Le Mans sucess was still some 5 years away.
