Description
Special stage near Camberley put on for TV audience following cancellation of 1967 RAC rally owing to Foot and Mouth disease.I believe that the photograph has Paddy Hopkirk driving this particular works rally specification 1275cc Cooper S which was built specifically for therally. It was used on the Circuit of Ireland in 1968 crewed by L.Ytterbring/L. Persson and then raced by John Handley at Brands Hatch,where it crashed. Subsequently, andin 1275GT guise, it was used as a recce car for the World Cup rally.
