The Nova Magazine entered MGB of Mrs Jean Denton tackles the London traffic shortly after the start of the 1968 Daily Express sponsored London to Sydney marathon. They made it to Australia and were placed 41st overall at the finish in Sydney and were 1st overall in the Sports Car Category..
STOP PRESS: In March 2015 this car was discovered in a garage in Southampton, England. Bill Pryce (ex MG Works) viewed the car and confirmed it as Jean Denton’s Marathon MGB. Following this a visit was made by the MGB register who then purchased the car and transported it to British Motorsport Heritage at Witney who have offered support and storage. The MGB register intend to restore the car to it’s original condition and gold colour as it was when supported by the ladies magazine, Nova. During the restoration various items will be required such as 5 x knock-on Minilite wheels, 5 x Dunlop winter tyres to fit, 5 x Cibie Oscar spotlights, i x Cibie flat reversing light and a good racing drivers seat.
