Zasada’s Porsche 911S tackles the London traffic shortly after the start of the 7000 mile 1968Daily Express sponsored London to Sydney marathon. He was destined not to finish. The route ran via Istanbul, Tehran and Bombay and thence, by ship, to Australia. 72 cars made it this far with Roger Clark (Escort), Lucian Bianchi (Citroen) and Paddy Hopkirk (1800) as the leading runners. However last minute problems, accidents and delays for each of these meant that the ultimate winner in Sydney was the Hillman Hunter crewed by Andrew Cowan, Colin Malkin and Brian Coyle.
