Description
This is a 1932 Type 53 with a 4.9 litre supercharged engine taken from the Type 50. It was one of the first racing cars to attempt to drive all four wheels and was notoriously difficult to steer. Only two were built plus one more assembled from factory parts. This latter raced in hillclimbs with some success. One of the original two was driven by Ettore Bugatti at Shelsey Walsh where in practice he unofficially broke the hill record. In the event itself he rolled! At the model’s debut in the 1932 Manaco GP it was driven by Albert Divo, particularly chosen for his size and strength. Despite this he never made the race, giving up in practise having exhausted himself!
Priced as an A3 full colour poster supplied rolled in a tube. All sizes and materials (eg canvas) can be ordered and these are subject to a specific quotation. Please contact info @ photohistoric for a quotation to meet your specific requirements.
